The Eastern Region Coaching Development Team is pleased to announce plans for offering the

BCU Inland Kayak Level 3 Assessment

29th and 30th November 2008

This will take place on the lower River Dart (G2), based from Ashburton. Cost does not include travel or accommodation.

This course is primarily to enable the Eastern regions paddlers to access an affordable and accommodating course, but we would welcome paddlers from any part of the country.

The assessment team aim to provide a supportive and fair assessment of candidate’s ability.

Cost £110 ex BCU assessment fee

Apply for limited places at price of £50 for ER paddlers for those unable to get grant support

There are many excellent Bed and Breakfasts and other accommodation in the Ashburton area. If candidates would like to be put in touch with each other to share transport please indicate on application form.

Suffolk has a wealth of experienced coaches that can help you get the most from canoe sport. This is from beginners to those wishing to become coaches themselves. There are clubs and centres around the county that offer a variety of courses and it is best to contact these directly.

Suffolk is also able to offer coach education courses for those wishing to become coaches and pass on their enjoyment of the sport and skills. The requirements and pre-requisites can be found at www.bcu.org.uk. There are a number of training and assessment courses run throughout the year at various levels. Planned courses can be seen below, if you dont see what you require please contact to course providers or the LCO.

Courses are often set up to meet a specific demand for individuals or organisations for example, RYA Powerboat, 1-4* kayak, Open Canoes, Whitewater, Sea, Navigation, 1st Aid and a variety of Coaching awards.
